                                      The Evolution of Apple's iPhone

Introduction:
                  Apple's iPhone is almost everybody dream phone. iPhone is a series of smartphones designed and marketed by Apple Inc. Apple is a tech giant from a past few decades since its launch by Steve Jobs. There has been ups and downs in Apple's Inc history since its beginning. When Board of directors fired the CEO of Apple Inc Steve Jobs in 1985, Apple failed to bring something interesting to  customers, and it started to lost its huge share in market worldwide. Then after more than a decade Apple decided to bring Steve Jobs as there CEO, and till then Apple has left its mark on the tech world. Personally i am a huge fan of Steve Jobs and i plan to write articles on some of the History's innovative or best Entrepreneurs then i will write a separate and huge article on Steve Jobs. Long cut to short after Steve came back to Apple he brought lots of new ideas and products in the market like iPad, iMac, iNano, iPod, iPhone, iOS etc. And here today we are talking and praising about the iPhone series of smartphones of Apple.
In this article I am going to talk about all the major smartphones from start to end.
So let's start.

iPhone (1st Gen):

           Almost 9 years ago, On June 29, 2007 Apple released it first smartphone called iPhone (1st Gen). Its slogan was "This is only the beginning" , "Apple reinvents the phone". And Apple was 99% correct with it's slogan, That was only the beginning and Apple really re invented the Phone. According to my knowledge it was first smartphone which had full touchscreen, before this smartphones came with half touch and half keypad. But Steve Jobs bringing the innovation proved himself and nailed it.

iPhone 1st Gen

This device was manufactured by Foxconn on the contract with Apple. Its CPU was 32-bit model clocked at 620 MHz, having 128 Mb RAM and 16GB memory and multi-touch interface. Its Operating System was Apple's own designed OS called iOS. Total of 6.1 million units were sold in a short time. Its sales were discontinued almost after a year on June 15, 2008.
On July 11, 2008 after the month of discontinuation of first gen phone apple released its successor called iPhone 3G with some upgrading features and with many slogans like "The first phone to beat the iPhone" , "New features, New price" etc. It was a huge hit, over 1 million units were sold in its first weekend of release. It sales were discontinued almost after the year of its release.


iPhone 3GS:
               Almost after the year of release of iPhone 3G, Apple Inc released its successor on June 19, 2009. Almost all of the features were improved including RAM increasing from 128 Mb to 256 Mb. Increment of Mega Pixels in Rear Camera. It originally came with the iOS 3.0 and the final release of iOS for this handset came in 2014, and at that time its version was 6.1.6. In memory options it came with three options of 8, 16 and 32 Gb.

iPhone 3GS

It had two slogans, from 2009-2010 it was "The fastest, smartest phone yet" and from 2010-2012 its slogan was "More to love, less to pay".
It had different sensors including accelerometer, Ambient light sensor, Proximity sensor etc.
Its manufacturer again was Foxconn. In this model and its predecessor 3G stands for 3rd Generation and in this model S stands for Speed as it was told in briefing. iPhone 3GS was twice fast from its predecessor. It continues in production until iPhone 5 was announced in September 2012.

iPhone 4 & 4S:
                  iPhone 4 was the smartphone by Apple which had the longest lifespan of iPhone ever produced almost 4 years. Apple took almost 15 months in releasing this iPhone, longer than usual time of 12 months. It was released in three phases, first the GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication) version of this iPhone was released on June 24, 2010 and its CDMA (Code Diversion Multiple Access) model was released in February, 2011 and GSM & CDMA model was released after few months in April, 2011.

iPhone 4S

I personally used iPhone 4 for a short period of time and i must admit that i was very impressed with tits performance, look, everything.
iPhone 4's slogan was "This changes Everything Again". This phone acted exactly according to its slogan. It is the most used and likeable iPhone of all times. It was available to sale in many countries until 2014. It had A8 CPU chip clocked at 1 GHz having architecture of 32-bit code named "Hummingbird". It had memory of 512 Mb twice from its predecessor. Rear Camera increased in Mega pixels to 5 MP. There was a time when i was in love with this smartphone. Its successor iPhone 4S was released few months later in October as the successor of iPhone 4. The 'S' in this name stood for "Siri" a program that works as artificial personal assistant. Well long cut to short this iPhone was a beauty.

iPhone 5 & 5S:

                     There are many dates that are according to iPhone 5 availability across the globe. It was available on different dates on different locations. Its first availability was on September 21, 2012. in few countries. This was the first iPhone which was released after the death of its creator Steve Jobs.
Two million units were sold in the first 24 hours of its pre-order release and Five million units were sold in 72 hours of its release.

iPhone 5S

Its slogan till 2013 was "Loving it is easy. That's why so many people do" and after it, it's slogan became "The biggest thing happen to iPhone is iPhone".
Let's not to get deep into upgrade in features and specs this time, its only enough to say it was almost little more than double of specs of its predecessor. It supported a vast range of networks. Had big range of sensors and a great improvement in Camera.

Jonathan Ive

From September, 2013 its successor iPhone 5S was released. It was designed by Jonathan Ive. Jonathan was discovered by Steve Jobs. Steve bring Jony in his team when he came back to Apple.
Jony made some improvements in its design. Earphones by Apple called Ear pods, Case and a dock were also included in the box of iPhone 5S. S again was because of Siri. Finger print sensor was also included in this model. And it was a huge hit.


iPhone 6 & 6S : 
        Code named N61, iPhone 6 and 6 plus these 8th generation smartphones was released by Apple on September 19, 2014. After few months of this release Apple released iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. So what with this plus? The only difference between the Plus and simple iPhone is only the screen size. iPhone six have the screen size of 4.7 inches and 6 plus have the screen size of  5.5 inch. And of course when screen size changes the resolution will also change, the resolution of iPhone 6 is 1334x750 pixel resolution at 336 ppi (pixels per inch) and iPhone 6 plus have the resolution of 1920x1080 pixel resolution at 401 ppi with HD Retina display . When the screen size of phone changes, the weight will also change there is a difference of 43 grams between both models. Accept these things there ins not any change in these both models.

iPhone 6 and 6 +

iPhone 6 and plus both received good and positive reviews in market . From these models Apple started using 64-bit architecture CPU. In these models this CPU was called "Typhoon" or Apple A8. It had two processors one was main processor Apple A8 and second processor was motion capture processor called Apple M8
 It had 1 GB LPDDR 3 memory. There are three versions of it according to its Storage size 16, 32 and 128 Gb of memory. There is a small list of sensors that were in these models but one here to mention is Touch id (Finger print sensor). 

iPhone 6S and 6S+

Coming to iPhone 6S and 6S plus, they were released with difference of few months. There is not much difference between iPhone 6 and 6S and iPhone 6+ and 6S+. The one big difference obviously was Siri. And other difference was battery, in 6S and 6S+ battery have a little bit decrement in their capacity. iPhone 6 and 6 + battery is 1810 mAh and iPhone 6 S and 6S+ battery is 1715 mAh. The only thing that i hate about iPhone is its battery timing, it doesn't last that long compared to its competitors. There were two main differences between 6 and 6S, One was difference of memory, iPhone 6 have 1 GB LPDDR3 Ram but 6S have 2GB LPDDR4 memory. The other difference is mega pixels  of cameras, iPhone 6 camera is of 8MP but 6S camera is of 12 MP. I was unable to find any much serious difference in camera results of both phones.

iPhone 7 & 7+ :

              The latest addition in series of iPhone by Apple is its iPhone 7 and 7+. There slogan is "This is 7". Announced by Apple in September, 2016 and also released in the same month of September. This time Apple released its both phones the normal and plus at the same time. Presented by current CEO of Apple "Tim Cook".

iPhone 7 & 7+

iPhone is very much similar to design of 6S with few tweaks like the removal of headphone jack. And this is the only thing that in starting customers of Apple were very confused and some of them still are confused that why Apple removed 3.5mm headphone jack? Apple in these phones only gave one lightning bolt port for both purposes, for charging and for using the headphone. Lightning to 3.55 mm jack was included in Box. Users were not able to use to listen to songs etc and charge at same time. Apple then gave the solution to this problem by presenting wireless headphone that work using Bluetooth technology. But that is not enough, According to Forbes post Apple now accept that iPhone 7 and 7+ both have a problem which is not having a head phone jack.
now lets talk about the major differences between iPhone 7 and 7+, first is of course the size, 7+ have bigger screen size, resolution, dimension and weight.There is a difference of around 940 mAh in battery capacity of both phones, iPhone 7 have the battery capacity of 1960 mAh and iPhone 7+ have the battery capacity of 2900 mAh, so that's a big difference. What about the memory size? There is a difference of a 1 GB in both phones, iPhone 7 have 2 GB LPDDR4 memory and the 7+ have 3 GB of LPDDR4 memory. And last but the most important and unexpected difference in both phones is the difference of camera. Both phones have the camera of 12 MP but the difference is that iPhone 7+ have another lens! Yeah you read that right, in 7+ there are two lenses, the second lens is called "telephoto lens", and the only work of this lens is zooming on a scene by 10x of digital zoom, so that the photo quality should remain good while zooming in on a photo even by a 10x. So, these were all the major differences between both phones. There CPU is clocked at 2.34 GHz and called A10 and have the 64-bit architecture. There GPU is custom made Apple G9 and have six cores. Other than all these features i talked about these phones are also IP67 certified it means that they are Splash, dust and water proof phones.
